Job overview

The Group Associate Director of Finance – Income & Contracts is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing income, contracting, and pricing functions across the BSW Hospitals Group, ensuring financial sustainability, maximisation of income, and robust contractual arrangements with commissioners and system partners.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will:
•    Lead the Group Income & Contracting function, driving consistency and best practice across all sites
•    Act as the senior finance lead for commissioning, contracting, and income optimisation
•    Provide expert advice to the Site Director of Finance, Group CFO, and Executive teams on income risks, opportunities, and regulatory frameworks
•    Enable a high-performing, data-driven approach to income recovery, contract negotiation, and system working.

The role will own the income inputs, assumptions, drivers for forecasting, linking closely with the Associate Director of Finance – Financial Planning and Analysis.

The postholder should expect to attend the different Trust sites to ensure a visible site presence is maintained.

  • CCAB Qualified with post qualification experience
  • Significant senior finance experience in the NHS or a large complex public sector organisation
  • Significant experience in Income and contracting, including NHS financial regime and payment mechanisms
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
Desirable criteria
  • Experience managing and developing finance staff and ability to lead and develop high performing teams
