Job overview
The Assurance Midwife will be responsible for leading and facilitating a programme to enable the delivery of the current National workstreams within Maternity Services including The Three Year Delivery plan, CNST Maternity Incentive Scheme and Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle within SFT which encompasses all six elements of the care bundle. This includes the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and audit of any guidance documents relating to The Three Year Delivery plan, CNST Maternity Incentive Scheme SBLCBv3 ensuring that they meet current practice and professional regulations.
Working in close collaboration with the MDT and wider Quality and Safety team within Maternity and neonatal Services, participating in the promotion of clinical governance, standard setting, implementation and audit, the development of clinical guidelines and, harmonisation of the Governance process across the LMNS.
Main duties of the job
- Facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and audit of any guidance documents relating to Assurance work in Maternity and Neonatal Services ensuring that they meet current practice and professional regulations.
- To contribute to the wider assurance requirements around CNST and ensure that evidence meets the requirements for NHS Resolution, CQC, HSIB, NHSI and other national standards

Essential
Essential criteria
- Practising / NMC registered midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience
- Significant clinical post registration experience as a registered midwife
- Evidence of CPD
- Experience of reporting and presenting complex data analysis in a variety of reports and media, including oral presentations
- Experience in using PowerPoint, spreadsheets, databases and word processing
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and competing demands
- Extensive knowledge of NHS Resolution / Three Year Delivery Plan/Saving Babies Lives standards and process and other external regulatory organisations for Maternity and Neonatal Services
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of National and Local NHS and Midwifery agenda
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Quality Improvement training or qualification
- Experience of influencing internal change
- Experience of clinical audit and research
- A Masters level qualification relevant to the role
- Quality Improvement qualification
- Leadership Qualification
