Wessex Rehabilitation Workshop Instructor & Lead Technician

Band 6

Job overview

As part of the multi-disciplinary specialist team, you’ll work with the Therapists to develop new vocational rehabilitation projects and support the rehabilitation of our patients who present with a range of injuries and conditions. As the Therapy Workshop Manager, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) in fabricating and maintaining items in wood, metal, plastic and glass as required by the rehabilitation service or the wider Leadership and Management.

This is a unique and rewarding role within the NHS that provides the opportunity to use skills developed within the trade industries but also work alongside patients supporting the delivery of vocational rehabilitation and wider leadership management.

At Wessex Rehab, we go beyond standard outpatient Physiotherapy rehabilitation. Within the spacious facility you’ll find a large gym and private treatment areas, as well as our more unusual therapy spaces including a bouldering wall, industrial workshop, and hydrotherapy pool. Patients referred to our facility have often suffered significant; life changing physical injuries and have undergone advanced and interesting surgical reconstruction.
