We’re looking for a visionary powerhouse to manage and evolve our Imaging services with flair and finesse. You’ll be the driving force behind high-quality, cost-effective care, making a real impact for both the Trust and our commissioning partners.
We are now seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead our Imaging Department. The department includes our diagnostic Radiology, the Breast Centre and Medical Photography. We are investing significantly in the team and department, including a 5.4 million pound equipment roll out . This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and forward-thinking individual to join our team to deliver transformational services for the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience within the NHS is not a prerequisite; we are very keen to attract candidates with transferrable experience from other sectors including the wider public sector, hospitality, financial services, utilities, customer services, retail and other large, complex organisations. The skills we are seeking include people management, transformation, change, customer service, process & systems improvement, performance reporting and project management.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of further personal development
- Evidence of formal management development and current professional development activity
- Evidence of Health & Safety training
Desirable criteria
- Formal Project Management qualification
- Post Graduate Management qualification or equivalent high quality training/experience (Master’s Level)
- Evidence of training in change management
- Radiology / Scientific qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous relevant experience in a Senior management role
- Experience of leading a Quality Management System
- Experience of leading and implementing an effective Audit Programme
- Personal experience of managing and implementing a significant programme of change or service development
- Experience as an effective team leader, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Significant experience in delivering high quality teaching / training / mentoring.
- Experience of human resource management including recruitment, appraisal, performance monitoring, staff development and discipline.
- Experience of resource management with a clear understanding of budget management.
- Experience of influencing the decision making process in complex environments
- Proven pro-active approach to problem solving.
- Proven ability to manage a budget, with sound understanding of financial analysis and appropriate financial management tools
- Evidence of strategic planning (able to work towards a clear vision of the future while ensuring that shorter term goals are met)
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Asset Management and Procurement.
- Experience in participation in hospital on-call service with an acute trust.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
