Overnight Driver/Receptionist - Watford

Non NHS Banding

Job overview

Do you have a driving ambition to provide a crucial service, working alongside our Out of Hours Clinicians delivering excellent patient facing care? If you love driving day and night, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
We are recruiting Driver/Receptionists for our Hertfordshire and West Essex Service to assist with a variety of tasks, including transporting GPs around the locality to visit patients. You will also be providing a point of contact for patients upon arrival at our dedicated bases, welcoming them and ensuring their confidentiality is always maintained. For the driving side of the role, you will need both automatic and manual licences as we have a large fleet of vehicles.

Main duties of the job

The role of the driver is to transport the doctor to home visits quickly and safely and to ensure that the in-car equipment is operational and secure.

The role of receptionist at the Out of Hours bases involves checking in patients, appointment booking and comfort calling, opening and closing the base and doing stock checks.

As and when the service requires, Drivers may need to move to support another base within the region (a base other than that for which the original shift was booked).

Working for our organisation

HUC provides accessible and high-quality Integrated Care services to nearly 4.5 million patients across a range of counties. When patients are ill, HUC provides the NHS111 and Out of Hours GP service to ensure they get the right care at the right time.

At HUC, you will develop a wide range of skills within a growing urgent and primary care organisation, making a real difference to service development and delivery. If you want to make your professional and personal mark in an organisation that is open to doing things differently, this could be the ideal move for you.

We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive organisation. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender/sex, gender reassignment/trans status, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.
