Job overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Estates Officer (Operational) to join our team.
The successful candidate will support the Associate Director of Estates in managing and maintaining the Trust's estate. This includes providing day-to-day coordination of maintenance, delivering minor works schemes, and supporting the development of capital schemes.
Good communication and administrative skills are essential as the post holder will need to communicate with senior managers, contractors, other staff members and possibly visiting members of the public.
You will need to have an experienced administrative background, be capable of working under pressure, have an attention to detail, and be confident in problem solving.
The role also involves managing the “base” site as well as providing line management support to the any future Estates Officer Apprentice employed by the Trust.

Main duties of the job
- Support the Estates team in respect of administrative duties in relation to estates issues and provide estates support and advice.
- Responsible for the scoping and delivery of minor works schemes, liaising with operational departments to determine agreed specifications.
- Support the development of capital schemes, including sole preparation of capital bids where appropriate.
- Day-to-day management of the base site and support to front of house and post room service and contractors.
- Provide support to Estates Colleagues in the delivery of operational management of the Trust in the delivery of a safe and effective estate.

Essential criteria
- Knowledge of project management acquired through a degree or diploma in project management and further training,
- A post graduate degree or equivalent or demonstrable or experience
Experience in a similar role

- Experience of handling a variety of complex data to produce accurate management performance reports
- Experience in project managing a number of schemes
- Able to communicate with and supporting Directors, Senior Managers and Staff with regards estates & facilities issues
Skills and Knowledge

- Knowledge of current legislation relating to health & safety
- Ability to take minutes and action notes at meetings and committees
- Developed analytical skills with good working knowledge of IT systems
- Understanding of financial operating frameworks, eg Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders etc and budget management
- Ability to interpret data in various formats to enable in-depth analysis to support the decision-making process
