Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital . The post holder will work towards being a clinical expert, acquiring the skills and specialist knowledge and expertise and credibility through direct clinical practice.

The post holder will be able to manage patients receiving Dermatology treatments for chronic skin disease, systemic therapy, biologics and investigations required to assess those patients.  Will be involved with providing advice, support, and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout the patients care pathway from consultation, treatment, and aftercare.  This will involve assessing, initiating treatments and reviewing patients in nurse led clinics and in consultant clinics.

They will be the first point of contact for all patients on a biologic. They will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff. An important part of their role will involve supporting the Principle Investigator in the departments research studies, working closely with the research departments and reviewing patients according to their research protocols. The successful candidate will be supported with the relevant education and training.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an expert practitioner in dermatology nursing, providing clinical and educational support within the health board. They will deliver high quality evidence based, individualised care to patients with all types of dermatological problems.  We are seeking an individual to work within our dynamic and forward-thinking Dermatology service. This role will be to work within our Dermatology nursing team to manage patients receiving dermatology treatments for chronic skin diseases such as acne, and inflammatory diseases using topical and systematic therapy, including biologics involving ordering investigations required to assess those patients, together with interpretation of results

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
