Acute Matron – Medical Directorate 

 Do you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start somewhere new and inspiring? If so, an opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Directorate as an interim Matron.

We wish to further strengthen our Medical Directorate team to provide excellent care to the population of North East Wales and the service provided at our Wrexham Maelor District General Hospital.

Working with excellent colleagues in Medicine and other specialties, this is a great opportunity to work in a progressive directorate. You will join our dynamic matron team which covers multiple ward and departmental specialties including: Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Infection Management, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Stroke, Care of the Elderly and Renal services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder should be an experienced Senior Nurse with significant experience within the Acute sector to join our Medical Directorate Team as a Matron. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of delivering values based leadership. You will need to demonstrate passion and commitment for leading on the delivery of high quality patient care as well as possessing enthusiasm with motivation skills to develop your nursing team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Nurse Leader with a passion for Acute Care. You will require the ability to inspire and lead innovation and improvement in nursing practice.

The post holder will act as the professional nurse lead providing clinical advice, leadership development, monitoring and management of all nursing resources for general adult services within the designated clinical area, to facilitate excellent nursing practice ensuring the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service. 

The post holder will be a clinical nurse leader, working with the Management Team to identify opportunities for service change and improvement to encourage and enable advancement and development of associated evidence based services.  

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
