Job overview

The Wrexham Maelor outpatient department is a busy and thriving department. We care for a range specialities within the Main Outpatient Department, Orthopaedic Department and Maxiol Facial Department.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative senior nurse to take up the band 7 senior sister role within the department at the Wrexham site. The senior nurse will need experience within an OPD setting and have the skills, knowledge and expertise to lead this team of qualified nurses and clinic support workers.

 

Main duties of the job

  • 24-hour responsibility for the provision of clinical care and standards in the department.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating and make effective use of staff, supervise staff and ensure training is maintained.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and provide clinical leadership for staff.
  • Act as a role model and leader to nursing staff.
  • Ensure cost effective use of resources.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
