In this role, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day running of radiographic services.
  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver safe, efficient care.
  • Work closely with senior leaders on service planning and improvement.
  • Be a key contact for operational issues and workforce coordination.

Main duties of the job

Support Operational Delivery: Work closely with the Principal Operations Radiographers to ensure a high-quality, patient-centred radiology service.

Maintain and Improve Standards: Lead by example in setting clinical and professional standards. Participate in audits and service reviews to identify and implement improvements.

Supervise and Develop Staff: Provide supervision, assessment, and training for staff, students, and visitors, ensuring adherence to BCUHB policies, radiology protocols, and professional standards.

Foster Collaborative Working: Promote effective communication and teamwork across departments, helping to resolve local operational issues as they arise.

Undertake Line Management Duties: Support delegated responsibilities including return-to-work interviews, appraisals, and daily staff allocation.

This role requires excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of IR(ME)R and IRR17 regulations. It offers an excellent development opportunity for those aspiring to senior leadership roles.
