Job overview
We have a rare and exciting opportunity to recruit 2 Deputy Heads of Speech and Language Therapy to join our dynamic and supportive team. These are pivotal roles: you will oversee the development and delivery of either Adult or Paediatric speech and language therapy, working collaboratively with the Head of Speech and Language Therapy and each other to ensure high quality care for our population and inspirational leadership for our amazing team of SLTs, technical instructors and administrative colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Due to the retirement of our longstanding Deputy, we have the opportunity to develop 2 new posts, each leading either Adult or Paediatric SLT. We are a growing team of around 60, working across the age range and serving our population across primary, community and acute care, physical and mental health, and working with partners across health and social care, education, and the third sector. We are known as a friendly, skilled and innovative team, with a strong commitment to learning and development.
You will spend around 50% of your time working clinically, and 50% in service management, working with the Head of Speech and Language Therapy, each other and our leadership team to continually improve our service. You will need a working knowledge of the opportunities and challenges that present for SLT in the NHS, across the age range and diverse populations we serve, as we work together to develop a cohesive, fair and flexible service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
