Job overview

This is a new and exciting opportunity for Sirona as we seek a Head of Commercial to to lead our Commercial Finance team.

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the post holder will be responsible for all aspects of contract management including the financial aspects of bids and tenders. As the Senior Commercial lead, the post holder will build a capable commercial team to work with our stakeholders in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across Sirona. 

They will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of a wide range of commercial clinical services and play a pivotal role in leading the financial, legal and procurement elements, including business case production, contractor appointments, programme financial management, demand and capacity modelling and contract management.

Main duties of the job

Leading the contracts team in contract development, contract negotiation using persuasiveness and contract management. Deliver efficient procurements utilising existing routes to market and running effective tenders in the market.

Working with the Finance team who will provide the financial support for costing of bids and tenders and to develop and monitor project budgets forecasts and expenditure, using internal information as intelligence which will be sensitive in nature.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining the highest standards for quality and compliance.

Implement and manage all contracts with third-party contractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers. Ensure contracts are executed efficiently, comply with legal and regulatory requirements and mitigate risks to the project.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to master’s level with significant post qualification experience and professional knowledge
  • Record of continuous professional development
  • Specialist training in relevant subject to Doctorate or equivalent experience
  • Formal evidence of project management skills such as successful completion of a formal training course and experience gained on specific projects
Desirable criteria
  • Member of CCAB body

Essential criteria
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial sector accounting and financial procedures and the ability to present these so that they are understood.
  • Project Management Skills
  • Good management skills with demonstrable experience in managing staff.
  • Able to create innovative solutions to complex problems, consistently exhibiting decisiveness, adaptability and the ability to work without supervision to a high standard and within tight timescales and deadlines
  • Using persuasion ensuring that managers deliver the strategic financial framework set by the company.

  • Presentation skills, experience of public speaking
