Job overview

We are looking for a Workforce Business Partner to drive performance improvement, workforce sustainability and strong people leadership across our Directorates. As part of the senior directorate team, you will provide proactive, data‑driven workforce partnering that informs decisions and strengthens organisational capability.

You will use workforce intelligence and KPIs to target improvements, oversee recruitment and establishment pipelines to reduce vacancies and temporary staffing use, support fair and timely employee relations resolution, and advise leaders on the people aspects of service changes and new ways of working. You’ll champion Sirona’s values, promote inclusive and just‑culture approaches and build confident, capable managers. This is a strategic role focused on influence and insight—not day‑to‑day HR operations.

You will have senior‑level workforce or HR partnering experience and use data confidently to drive improvement. You will bring sound judgement, clear communication and strong influencing skills. You’re experienced in complex employee relations, supporting service change and strengthening management capability. Collaborative and values‑led, you help create an inclusive, compassionate culture and are committed to improving workforce performance and staff experience.

This role is for 25 hours per week - to be worked over 4/5 days

Main duties of the job

  • Use workforce dashboards and KPIs to identify emerging hotspots, trends and risks across the Directorate.
  • Maintain oversight of establishment and vacancies and support managers with forward recruitment planning.
  • Maintain an overview of all employee relations casework, monitoring progress, risks and themes.
  • Advise managers on the people implications of service changes (e.g., core hours, rota changes, new ways of working).
  • Identify capability gaps and work with specialist teams to design and deliver appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation to ensure compliant, fair and defensible advice.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior leaders, staff side and People & Development colleagues.

Agenda for Change Salary, full NHS benefits, 27+ days’ annual leave, and participation in the NHS Pension Scheme – just a glimpse of the benefits you’ll receive.

We welcome and encourage all applicants. We are committed to having a workforce that reflects the communities we support and are proactively seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce. We know diversity fosters creativity and innovation.

We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where all belong. We aim to draw upon the widest possible range of views and experiences to meet the changing needs of our colleagues, partners and communities we serve.
