A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Skills Trainer with Sirona CIC, the provider of innovative high-quality specialist community health and care services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Sirona’s vision is to improve health outcomes for all and the organisation is committed to providing accessible services and reducing healthcare inequalities. 

The Clinical Skills Trainer will be a key post within the Clinical Skills Team which is part of the Learning and Organisational Development & Design department in the People, Development and Communications Directorate.

If you are an experienced Band 4 in health and care services with a passion for learning and development, organisational development or education and training, this new and exciting role may be for you.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a range of learning materials for the development of clinical skills. You will be responsible for supporting the development of the clinical skills training offer ensuring Sirona values are embedded in the design of those interventions. Working in collaboration with staff, managers and colleagues to ensure that the clinical development needs are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible evidence-based methods.

You will use your initiative to plan, develop and deliver identified training, to enable Sirona staff to gain the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours to be fully effective in their roles, to deliver a safe, effective and caring service and improve patient outcomes

You will support the Sirona’s clinical skills training offer and the delivery, timetabling, promotion and signposting of staff to relevant programmes, to support career development and progression. You'll need to communicate with, develop and maintain constructive relationships with a range of stakeholders including new and existing staff, learners, managers, educators, IT team, People, Development and Communications Directorate, internal and external customers and external suppliers.

Qualifications & Training

  • Assistant Practitioner or Nurse Associate qualification or equivalent experience and must have completed the Care Certificate.
  • Experience in learning and development, organisational development or education and training.
  • NMC reg (only relevant for Nurse Associate)

  • Teaching qualification or training membership – expectation would be to complete in post

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience of working as an Assistant Practitioner or Nurse Associate in a clinical setting
  • Evidence of relevant skills, knowledge and clinical competence to deliver the subject matter.
  • Awareness of learning programmes and career pathways to enhance career development and progression.
  • Good organisational skills, good time management and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines; to manage fluctuations in demand and often unpredictable workload priorities throughout the working day.
