Hours: Full or Part time, Fixed Term Contract (Ending 31/01/2026), 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working 

The maternity team are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Ward Clerk in the maternity department. You will need to be able to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload in what can be a fast paced, pressurised environment. You should be self-motivated, have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own as well as part of a busy team.

You will be working a combination of shifts throughout a 24-hour, 7-day service. If you feel you have these qualities and want to join our team, we look forward to hearing from you.

Main duties of the job

To provide a front door style service to the clinical areas as well as comprehensive, responsive administrative and clerical support service to one or more than one of the Trust’s Women’s Health Service areas.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

•    Greet all visitors and telephone enquiries to the maternity unit in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner.
•    The undertaking of general organisation of paperwork and notes within the maternity unit to ensure an organised department. This will include EDM, any loose filing must have a service user identification label on it and filed into the folder correctly.
•    To answer the telephone, taking and delivering messages in an appropriate and helpful manner. 
•    General office duties as required for the clinical area.

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or working in an office environment
