Are you ready to embrace a new challenge? The Early Pregnancy Unit and Gynaecology Day Assessment Unit is seeking to recruit a Junior Band 6 Nurse to join our dynamic team, committed to delivering exceptional care to women facing early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological conditions.

Our department is a busy unit, catering to an average of 500 new patients each month, as well as those requiring follow-up care.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and compassionate nurse to join our team.

Ideally, candidates will have a background in gynaecology, with comprehensive knowledge of acute early pregnancy and gynaecological conditions.

his role is perfect for a Band 5 staff nurse looking to advance their career to a Band 6 position, or for an experienced Band 6 nurse seeking a new challenge within a fresh team environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and forward-thinking nurse to collaborate closely with our Matron, Lead Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist Sonographers, Lead Consultant, Band 6 Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, and Administrative Team. The successful candidate will embody our trust values and consistently prioritise the best interests of our patients, their families, and our multidisciplinary team.

Education

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
  • Experience of mentorship / preceptorship.
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant gynaecology courses

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Relevant nursing practice in a gynaecology setting.
  • Knowledge of acute nursing
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of managing early pregnancy complication and gynaecology pathology

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in taking charge of ward and understanding of acute healthcare setting.
  • Experience as a gynaecology Staff Nurse.
