Job overview

Join Our Dynamic and Compassionate CAMHS Inpatient Team

As a valued member of our multi-skilled, motivated, and creative service, you will play a key role in the effective day to day delivery of high quality clinical care and risk management for young people accessing our service.

In this senior role, you will also contribute to the operational management of the ward, providing support to the shift coordinator and overseeing referrals and access assessments across the region.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can build strong, professional relationships with young people and their families. You will remain calm under pressure and be confident working in a fast paced clinical environment where we support young people presenting with risk taking behaviours and deliberate self harm. The work is demanding, but incredibly meaningful and rewarding.

As a senior nurse, you will have a passion for developing your leadership skills. You will offer guidance and support to junior staff and learners, provide clinical supervision and training, and act as a positive role model within the team.

Main duties of the job

Your values are central to this role. We are seeking someone who genuinely wants to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people—someone who works with care, diligence, and integrity, and who can think and respond effectively in challenging situations.

Our CAMHS inpatient structure has been purpose designed to support and encourage your professional growth. Your development is important to us, and we are committed to helping you progress.

We recruit people based on their values and qualifications (where required) and believe that their lived experience is an advantage, this means that together we are as diverse as the communities we care for. Simply put, when we employ caring people who act with integrity and have the right skills, we can give those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities and neurodiversity high-quality care and support to live fulfilling lives, and make our staff feel purposeful, happy and valued.

All our information is available in accessible formats. Please contact the Recruitment team [email protected]

If you require a reasonable adjustment, please contact the Recruitment Team or see the attached candidate guide to reasonable adjustments.
