Job overview
Are you a pharmacist who is keen to make a meaningful difference to the service provision, patient experience and outcomes in dermatology in the West Integrated Health Community (IHC)? Have you got a postgraduate qualification at advanced practice level and are ready to apply your skills in dermatology?
We are excited to announce the creation of this pharmacist advanced clinical practice role within the dermatology team in the West IHC of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). The post holder will take a clinical leadership role within the dermatology team with a specific focus on those patients with chronic conditions who are prescribed advanced therapies such as biologics.
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative pharmacist with significant clinical experience at advanced practice level, strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and a vision for the future. The successful candidate will have a track record of quality improvement, service development and clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
The post is ideal for somebody looking to apply their clinical leadership skills to improve outcomes and build on their advanced clinical practice qualification working towards Royal Pharmaceutical Society consultant pharmacist credentialling.
Main duties of the job
To strategically lead, develop and implement a high-quality clinical pharmacy service as part of the multidisciplinary team in dermatology.
To provide expert clinical practice and excellent patient-centred care for, and in collaboration with, patients with chronic conditions in dermatology.
To lead on developing a strategic vision and roadmap for chronic disease management by the MDT in dermatology.
Be an effective mentor, coach and role model. Deliver education and training for health care professionals across the IHC and act as a designated prescribing practitioner (DPP) for staff in training to become a non-medical prescriber
Lead on service improvement, support and contribute to clinical research and development in dermatology and share learning through publication and presentation at conferences.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and /or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered pharmacist with GPhC
- Masters Degree or equivalent in pharmacy
- Post-graduate diploma/MSc in relevant pharmacy area or equivalent documented experience in relevant area
- MSc in advanced clinical practice or RPS credentialing at core advanced level
- Independent Prescriber
Desirable criteria
- Practicing member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Management qualification or equivalent experience
- Teaching / assessing qualification
- Working towards RPS credentialing at consultant level
Experience
Essential criteria
- A substantive level of post qualification experience in primary care/secondary care.
- Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in providing specialist pharmacy services.
- Experience of success in service development
- Experience of working effectively in a multi disciplinary environment
- Experience of writing and implementing business plans
Desirable criteria
- Experience of pharmacy management within the NHS including responsibility for staff and budgetary control.
- Development of services across the primary secondary care interface
- Demonstrable experience of managing conflicting priorities within tight budgets and/or time constraints
