Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified Echocardiographer to join our team.  The successful candidate must be BSE accredited and competent to issue independent echo reports, providing teaching for medical and physiologist staff.  You will have a BSc in clinical physiology or equivalent, British Society of Echocardiography accreditation, registration and ILS/ALS.

About the Department

The Cardiac Physiology Department within Ysbyty Glan Clwyd provides a range of specialist invasive and non invasive tests.  It has a range of specialists that support cardiac device implantation and management alongside echocardiography services.   The North Wales Cardiac Centre is located on the Glan Clwyd site and provides a primary PCI 24/7 service.  It houses two catheter laboratories fully equipped for all aspects of coronary intervention, bradycardia pacemakers and implantable loop recorders

On call commitment

The postholder will be required to participate as a member of the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Team based in the North Wales Cardiac Centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.  This will include working as part of the team during normal working hours Monday to Friday and also by participating in the on call team outside of these hours.  It is recommended that the successful applicant will live within a distance to be on site within 30 minutes when on call however if this is not possible accommodation can be provided in the cardiology “on call” flat when on call.  Appropriate compensatory rest will be provided following periods of on call.  Full training and support in all aspects of the cardiac catheter laboratory service will be provided for the successful candidate.
