Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Endoscopy team within the Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to use your own initiative to solve problems as they arise.

The post holder will possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.

The post holder will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgment and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a keen eye for detail.

Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.

Main duties of the job

General

  • Works within own knowledge and expertise and BCUHB policies
  • Plan and organise own workload
  • Maintain and ensure all relevant documentation is up to date
  • Liaise with relevant department managers/lead as required.
  • Maintain service specific reports to enhance delivery
  • To place orders on Oracle ordering system ensuring delivery meets the required time frame and ensure progress on delayed delivery
  • To provide cross cover for the endoscopy booking clerks and receptionist as required to support the service.
  • Visit other clinical/non-clinical areas as required and deliver and collect referrals/information as required
  • To maintain a database of referrals received and take necessary actions to resolve queries.
  • To ensure a system is in place to bring all FIT results to the notice of the relevant clinician.
  • Assist with the accurate recording of information and maintain databases on referrals received/outcomes and provide regular summary reports
  • To work with the unit manager to support the co-ordination of audits, assessments and JAG submissions.
  • Provide administration support to the assessment process.
  • Provide administration support to the JAG leads

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Up to GCSE standard for Maths and English or equivalent experience
  • Required to hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
