Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, friendly and enthusiastic individual to work as a Facilities Coordinator covering all services within Facilities (Central). The Facilities Coordinator will support the Facilities Management Team in the delivery of efficient and effective operational services provided by Facilities, within the locality. Contributing to the achievement of Statutory Compliance for all Facilities services.  

In conjunction with peers, co-ordinate and organise day to day activities of the operational staff within all Facilities services. Working hours are predominately Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00 but weekend and bank Holidays will be required occasionally as will late shifts. Based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd but working in all areas of Facilities in the Community and also Acute when required.

This post holder is a key member of the Facilities team and will be required to provide support in the development of service improvements and assist with or undertake specific tasks/projects as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Work in all areas of Facilities in the Community and also Acute when required. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner at all levels of staff both internally and externally. 

 Assist the Facilities Managers and Acute Facilities Coordinators with staff management within Facilities. Participate in the local induction of new staff members and record accordingly. Act as a mentor for operational staff, providing in-house training and assessing competence where appropriate. Maintain records of training and development.

Undertake staff appraisals for operational staff. Assess any training or development requirements highlighted during the PADR’s and report to the Facilities Management Team. Assist in all elements of management of staff, e.g. sickness absence meetings, recruitment, Respect & Resolution, booking annual leave.

 Monitor the conduct of staff under area of responsibility during the course of their duties in line with BCUHB policies and procedures, advising staff when their conduct falls outside of expected standards and escalating if improvements are not achieved. Regularly use computer software to produce rotas, Personal Development Reviews, etc. and to ensure all records are accurate, up to date and comply with the Data Protection Act.

 Based at Glan Clwyd Hospital but majority of working time will be shared between all community sites within the Central locality. Therefore the ability to travel between sites is essential.
