An opportunity has arisen for temporary Band 5 Registered Children’s Nurses to join the nursing team on the Children's Unit for 12 months to cover maternity leaves.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic staff with a passion to work with children and their families.
The Children's Unit consists of 19 inpatient beds including 1 High Dependency bed, 3 Enhanced Care beds.
We also have 6 Assessment unit beds, 6 medical/surgical day case beds and 2 Oncology beds.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.

- Ability to communicate information to team members/ parents/ relatives, both written and verbal
- Willingness to develop clinical skills.
Desirable criteria
- I T Skills - Understanding of Clinical Governance
- Ability to prioritise own workload and seek assistance when appropriate
