This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service.
The Amethyst Sexual Assault Referral Centre is a partnership initiative between North Wales Police, Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board and Third Sector Agencies. The centre provides support to women, men and children in North Wales who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The Centre aims to provide a comprehensive approach to rape and sexual assault.
An opportunity has arisen for the provision of an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, as a fixed term contract until 30th December 2025 initially. Working as part of a small team, the role involves providing specialist, practical and emotional support work to adults who have been raped or sexually assaulted. Regardless of whether they have decided to make a formal report to the police or not.
This post requires excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, the ability to work both on your own initiative and with a wide range of partnership agencies, and an understanding of the impact of sexual assault. A genuine commitment to working with this client group and a passion for this area of work is essential.

Main duties of the job
To deliver advocacy support within the Amethyst SARC, to clients who have experienced sexual assault or rape in North Wales. The post holder will provide extensive support to clients through the criminal Justice System.
The post holder will work in partnership with Social Services, Police, Crown Prosecution Service and Voluntary Agencies to ensure that clients are adequately supported through health and psychological services where necessary, criminal justice and follow on support processes.
The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. They will work closely with the multi disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
It will be essential for the post holder to have the ability to travel across North Wales.
