Job overview

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the pharmacy and medicines management team on central area at Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board as a Medicines Management Specialist Nurse with a special interest in continence formulary

The role will primarily support patients and healthcare professionals caring for patients in the community who are prescribed continence products. The aim is to ensure the products prescribed are within the BCUHB formulary guidance and are appropriate and fit for the patient’s needs. The role will also incorporate working with colleagues pan BCUHB to ensure the BCUHB continence formulary is maintained and updated accordingly and any standard operating procedures and policies align with this.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Another element of the role is supporting the wider medicines management nursing team across community and acute care. This will include facilitating general medicines management training and education, supporting teams in the clinical setting and promoting the medication safety agenda.

The post holder will be a Registered Nurse with clinical experience involving use of medications and have experience in delivering education and training programmes in the clinical field.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, have a flexible approach with the ambition to support patient care and promote education and training.

The post is on a permanent full-time basis but part time or job share will be considered.
