The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Band 4 Physiotherapy Technical Instructor post with the Orthopedic Physiotherapy Team working at the new orthopaedic hub at Llandudno General Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual who has the skills and ability to engage well with their patients and work both independently and as part of a team.
Relevant evidence of experience in rehabilitation is desired. You would carry your own caseload of patients with supervision and support from qualified therapists.
You will also have experience of using highly skilled handling techniques to facilitate patient movement, and/or rehabilitation, implementing exercise and rehabilitation programmes. You will work with others in the team in the treatment of patients.
This role involves working some extended hours till 6pm and will also involve working weekends (likely to be 2 out of 4 weekends). There may be a service need for the successful applicant to work at Glan Clwyd hospital on the orthopaedic wards to meet service demands.
Main duties of the job
- To assist the qualified physiotherapist in the overall physiotherapy management of patients in collaboration with carers, support workers, health staff and agencies.
- Under the direction and guidance of the qualified physiotherapist, to manage and be responsible for their own clinical caseload of clients, following therapeutic programmes in order to improve their physical abilities and to minimise disabilities.
- To work independently using own initiative, within level of competence.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
