Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Trust Grade Registrar doctor to join the Emergency Department at RBH

The RBH is a busy district general hospital serving a population of 600,000 and our ED sees approximately 105,000 patients per year with 25% of these being under 16 years old. We are a trauma unit operating within the Thames Valley Trauma Network. We have a 24hr cardiac catheterisation service and also run a 24hr stroke thrombolysis service.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Trust Grade Registrar doctor to join the Emergency Department at RBH. 

You will join a team of ED doctors on the jrota. You will have the opportunity to manage a wide range of presentations in all age groups including children. You will be strongly supported through this by consultant and middle grade presence. We have 24 hour middle grade cover, and night shifts are staffed by 5-6 doctors.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the care of patients in the Emergency Department(ED). They will have direct responsibility for the management of patients. A consultant is present on the shop floor between 8am to 00:00. Outside these hours one of the middle grade doctors is designated to undertake the ‘lead role’ and works in close liaison with the nurse co-ordinator to ensure the department runs efficiently.
