An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Team Manager to join Birmingham Healthy Minds West NHS Talking Therapies Service. Birmingham Healthy Minds provide a range of evidence-based treatment interventions for people requiring psychological support between Step 2 and Step 3 of the stepped care model.

We welcome people who have a strong knowledge and experience of leading and managing, and who are keen to take the step into this exciting clinical leadership opportunity. One of our aims in Birmingham Healthy Minds Talking Therapies is to deliver a wide range of psychologically adapted interventions to the diverse communities of BSMHFT to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

The Team Manager will be responsible for the line management of staff including supervision, appraisal and continued professional development to ensure the team is operating at the highest standards within local and national guidelines. 

Interested parties should be aware that, whilst working patterns will be flexible, there will be a requirement for the successful applicants to be physically based within team base in Ashcroft for at least some of the week.

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working in an Talking Therapies primary care service or community mental health team at band 6 or equivalent. Able to demonstrate clear clinical leadership experience, e.g., lead roles on projects, service developments, work streams within the team.
  • Able to demonstrate clear clinical leadership experience, e.g., lead roles on projects, service developments, work streams within the team. Experience of developing effective partnerships working across different organisations. Ability to manage teams through periods of significant change.
Desirable criteria
  • A professional qualification e.g., RMN/RN part 13, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Counselling Psychology.
  • Supervisory/ leadership qualification or equivalent
