Job overview

We are seeking a part time senior physiotherapist with a passion for rehabilitation to help drive our intermediate care service and deliver a high standard of clinical interventions to patients in our intermediate care bed-based units across the Dudley Borough. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with a wide range of clinical needs and conditions, including orthopaedic, neurological, medical and surgical, as well as frail elderly co-morbidities. The post holder is required to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team committed to delivering and improving high standards of therapy within Dudley group NHS Foundation Trust. 

We are not able to offer sponsorship as this role does not meet the salary threshold. 

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the intermediate care pathway, providing effective and efficient physiotherapy to patients with a variety of physical conditions as part of an multi-disciplinary team. Duties will include, assessment, therapy (both group and/or individual as appropriate), developing tailored therapy programmes through to discharge, as well as appropriate delegation of work to assistants. Working autonomously across various ICT units, using evidence based/client centred principals to assess, plan, treat and evaluate interventions. 

The post holder will be involved in service development, audit and development of junior staff.

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate experience
Desirable criteria
  • Member of CSP

Knowledge and Training

Essential criteria
  • IT Training / knowledge
  • Good knowledge of falls prevention and falls risk factors/complex comorbidities
  • Awareness of relevant national and local guidelines
  • Commitment to personal and team development
  • Commitment to undertake appropriate training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed junior rotations in core areas or equivalent rehabilitation experience across a wide variety of clinical settings
  • Experience of working with physically impaired patients and fallers
  • Experience of rehabilitation work within an acute/community rehabilitation setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience at band 6 level
  • Experience of community working
