Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to work with the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist team. Working cross site. Working  Monday – Friday 37.5 hours, full time.

The successful applicant must demonstrate they have the following attributes:

  • Surgical nurse with relevant knowledge and experience in Urology.
  • Valid NMC registration, ideally with post registration experience.

 

The successful applicant needs to demonstrate an understanding of the cancer pathways for urology cancer patients. They would be involved in these cancer pathways, especially diagnostic procedures, with a focus on prostate biopsy patient support within procedure clinics.

The successful applicant must be committed to clinical quality, high standards of care delivery and continuous improvement and be able to demonstrate the Trust values in every day practice.

To co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to urology benign and cancer related conditions patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct. To contribute to the continued development of nursing, including the supervision of junior nurses and support staff.

Role to enhance cancer pathways to improve optimal prostate pathway.

To work collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust Patients.

 

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to urology benign and cancer related conditions patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct. To contribute to the continued development of nursing, including the supervision of junior nurses and support staff.

Assisting team to ensure patient safety during LA transperinel prostate biopsy, assisting in the delivery of the Nurse/ACP led service.

Working within the urology nursing team in urodynamics, urinary assessments and stone services.

To work collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust Patients.
