Position: Two Part-Time Clinical Sessions (7 or 8 sessions, negotiable)
Are you passionate about delivering high-quality dental care to children? Bristol Dental Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Clinical Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive dental care for paediatric patients, including routine exodontia under general anaesthesia (GA) for children under 16.
- Conduct GA pre-assessment and treatment clinics in the outpatient department.
- Support the Paediatric Dentistry team, community specialists, and trainees.
- Offer clinical cover for routine GA extraction lists as needed.
- Collaborate closely with dental and medical specialties across the hospital and wider Trust, including Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult Restorative, Special Care Dentistry, and Primary Care Dental Services.
- Deliver patient assessments and treatment planning in consultant-led clinics, using local anaesthesia, GA, intravenous sedation (IVS), and inhalational sedation (IS) where applicable.

Essential criteria
- Ability to understand and communicate verbally in the English language
- General experience of exodontia lists in theatre and in managing patients and dental emergencies
- Effective participation in clinical audit
- Evidence of general clinical skills in Paediatric Dentistry and potential to develop
- Experience managing patients requiring special care dentistry
- IT and presentation skills

- Full UK GDC registration
