Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager – Security to join our Estates & Facilities Division. Reporting to the Head of Security, you will lead the strategic direction and operational management of security services across the Trust. This includes oversight of CCTV, access control, ID production, FM Salto fob systems, and both in-house and contracted security teams.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with statutory and NHS standards, supporting risk management, and contributing to capital projects and service development. The role also involves budgetary responsibility and the delivery of security-related reports and audits.
Main duties of the job
Duties of your role will include:
- Lead and manage Trustwide security operations and systems.
- Provide specialist advice on security risks, training needs, and protective measures.
- Manage security budgets and contracts in collaboration with BWPC.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including police, courts, and safeguarding teams.
- Deliver annual security plans, audits, and performance reports.
- Support staff wellbeing and ensure mandatory training compliance.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in operational management of an in-house security team and/or a large operational team and the provision of suitable manning levels
- In depth knowledge and experience of security, criminal and civil related law enforcement especially relating to protection of people and property.
- Demonstrable experience of NHS or corporate security management.
- Experience of receiving and investigating incident reports to identify root causes, ensuring suitable remedial action is taken.
- Knowledge and expertise in CCTV and BWV management, review and further development.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of incident and risk management system such as DATIX
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree level or equivalent experience in security management or equivalent high performing operational team E
- NHS Security Management Experience or related experience E
Desirable criteria
- Health and Safety or Risk Management formal qualification – Nebosh, IRM or equivalent D
Skills
Essential criteria
- Detailed knowledge of other relevant current legislation/ guidance and associated statutory requirements.
- Ability to communicate very complex and emotive issues to a variety of different groups both verbally and written.
- Ability to analyse and present highly complex information in a clear and concise reports
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
