Job overview

Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Maternity Cover

Part-time

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team to provide maternity cover.

The Head Injury Therapy Unit (HITU) is a community-based neurorehabilitation service for adults with an acquired brain injury.  We are an established multi-disciplinary team who work with patients in their own homes and within other outpatient settings to support them to achieve functional, life-enhancing goals.

You will have clinical experience in the assessment and management of patients experiencing cognitive and physical impairments and subsequent difficulties in function following an acute neurological event such as traumatic brain injury or other neurological conditions.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with complex needs. The caseloads are varied, challenging and rewarding and you will be supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary team.  Regular supervision will be provided by the Senior Occupational Therapist.

You will be expected to travel regularly throughout the locality of the team and therefore access to transport is essential.

The working hours will be across three days per week, with one working day being on a Thursday.
