Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity in the BHT Consultant led Lipid Clinic, working in collaboration with Thames Valley ICB (previously BOB-ICB) and the West Midlands Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Service. The role will be to help identify and manage patients with Familial Hypercholesterolaemia in Buckinghamshire. 

 

We are looking for a band 7 nurse with interest in cardiovascular disease prevention. Previous experience in a Lipid Clinic or experience managing patients with Familial Hypercholesterolaemia will be useful. If you are working in Diabetes, Cardiology, Stroke or Vascular units and wish to upskill, this secondment may be of interest. 

 

The post will initially be a 12-month fixed term, 2 days per week (15 hours per week, 0.4WTE) commencing as soon as possible.

This post holder will work closely with the Lipid Clinic Consultants to provide professional clinical service management expertise to develop the Bucks FH service. The post holder will collaborate with region-wide stakeholders to develop and set up the Bucks FH service ensuring that process put in place are robust, safe and provide a high-quality service to patients and achieve the objectives of the Bucks FH service.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

  • Registered Nurse educated to degree level or willingness to undertake (desirable – research module/masters degree)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Post registration qualification in specialty
  • Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake

EXPERIENCE
