This role is pivotal in leading and developing the role of Occupational Therapy within the Psychological Skills Service (PSS), with a strong focus on sensory-based and trauma-informed interventions.

Within this role there is an expectation that the successful candidate would work on a Thursday to join and give appropriate clinical advice in our clinical meeting.

There will be the requirement to work from bases in Huntingdon, Cambridge and Fenland depending on clinical need. There will be an exception to co-deliver F2F OT Groups, providing specialist assessments and also providing supervision, and working alongside, Support Workers based in the team.

Main duties of the job

As a senior clinician, you will:

Lead and shape the strategic direction of Occupational Therapy within PSS, ensuring its integration into multidisciplinary care pathways.

Provide clinical and professional leadership to other Occupational Therapists, including supervision, development planning, and quality assurance.

Deliver specialist, evidence-based interventions (individual and group), including “Coping with My Senses” and sensory modulation/interception-focused work.

Train and consult with multidisciplinary colleagues, enabling them to incorporate sensory modulation strategies into their psychological therapy or support work, enhancing outcomes for individuals with trauma and neurodivergence.

Promote occupational performance and engagement in meaningful activities across self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Champion a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed approach, supporting individuals to build self-regulation, restore occupational balance, and recognise sensory differences as strengths.

Working for our organisation

These services include children's, adult and older people's mental health, forensic and specialist mental health, learning disabilities, primary care and liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, social care, research and development.

To achieve our goal, we look to recruit high-calibre candidates who share our vision and values. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all sectors of the community, particularly from under-represented groups including people with long term conditions and members of our ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities.

Please be advised we reserve the right to close adverts earlier than the closing date should we receive sufficient applications.

Regrettably, we cannot offer sponsorship for all our job roles. If you apply for a role that we cannot offer sponsorship for, unfortunately, your application form will be rejected from the process.
