Consultant Neurologist

Consultant

Job overview

Our Medicine Division at North West Anglia Foundation Trust is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Neurologist within our Medicine Division to join our friendly and supportive team. You will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team of Consultants delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, cross organisational team committed to delivering high quality care and driving future service development across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

Main duties of the job

This post is offered as 5 PAs.

To undertake up to four general neurology outpatient clinics per week, as well as one “virtual” triage clinic (two hours) where all referrals to the service are triaged.   It is envisaged that these will all take place at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, but flexibility in working patterns is required, including delivery of clinics at Peterborough City Hospital, Stamford Hospital, or Doddington Hospital, as required.

While the focus will be general neurology, a sub-specialty interest is encouraged, and all current consultants are offering sub-specialty clinics both at NWAFT and Cambridge.

While the focus of this post is outpatient care, the postholder will be required to contribute to inpatient reviews of patients. This will be predominantly at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. It is however possible that we will move to a cross-site consultant of the week pattern in the future.

To participate in Departmental meetings, presentations, clinical audit and Trust Clinical Governance activities

You must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and be a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or possess equivalent experience). We will provide suitable office accommodation, secretarial support, and IT access.

Working for our organisation

We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our workforce and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, with a special focus on welcoming individuals from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as those from our local area.

In line with our dedication to employee support, we offer a variety of benefits. For more information, please see the attached staff benefits leaflet.

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to excel in their roles.  Join us and become part of a team dedicated to making a positive difference in our community.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please see the job Description attachment for more information on this role.

You will support the delivery of Neurology services to the populations of Greater Peterborough and Southwest Lincolnshire in partnership with the current team of consultants.

It is envisaged that these will all take place at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, but flexibility in working patterns is required, including delivery of clinics at Peterborough City Hospital, Stamford Hospital, or Doddington Hospital, as required.
