NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership provides Clinical Logistics Transport Service across all Health Boards in Wales via its Health Courier Service, and is seeking HGV Drivers to join this service based in the South Wales area, serving all Wales.

On average, the service sorts (via its own mail sorting hubs), delivers and collects over 120,000 items of mail/medical notes per week, and transports in excess of 5 million movements of samples of Blood Products and Pathology in accordance with Accord Dangereux Routier, Good Manufacturing Practice & legislative requirements per year.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar environment. The main duties of the job will be to carry out driving duties which are allocated in line with business and customer requirements as well as ensuring the vehicles are loaded methodically and in line with legal requirements. The postholder will also ensure accurate selection of items whilst picking goods in the Warehouse and maintaining a high standard of packing goods. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

BANK CRITERIA

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse and Distribution (or willing to work towards) OR 3 GCSE’s (including Maths and English) OR equivalent level of experience.
  • HGV II Licence.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of tachograph and use of charts.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
