We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Portfolio Project Manager to join the Digital Programmes team for 18 months and play a significant role in the Digital workstream of the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC) project.
We have an ambitious Digital Strategy that underpins the digital solutions used to support the opening of our new world class environmentally sustainable cancer centre. Our new home will extend and enhance specialist cancer treatment and supports the delivery of cancer care closer to home at our regional sites.
You will utilise your previous project management experience to deliver critical new and innovative digital systems as part of the nVCC programme, to ensure the alignment of resources and coordination of activities and requirements required are aligned with project timescales and requirements.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for supporting a portfolio of complex clinical and digital projects.
Provide project management support to the Programme Manager, identifying resources/skillset required from the Digital Services department.
Assist Digital colleagues in providing accurate timescales for work to be undertaken so this can be accurately reflected in project plans and inform go-live / project implementation dates.
Work with the Programme Manager to inform the allocation of project resources.
Manage all project plans and be responsible for the updating of plans and all project related documentation.
Provide peer support, guidance and training for project teams and staff throughout the project lifecycle, using agreed project documentation.
Supervise project team staff and work collaboratively with wider project colleagues, across the Trust.
Assist the Digital Programme Team in continually developing both agile and waterfall project management methodologies across the Digital Programme and major programmes, Trust-wide.
Monitor project budgets during the life of the project and ensure alignment with approved expenditure and/or authorised business case as required.
You must be an outstanding communicator and effective negotiator, with excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Masters or equivalent professional / managerial qualification
- PRINCE 2 registered Practitioner or other recognised qualification in project management
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development / further training
- Evidence of developed practical project management skills
- Microsoft Office
- Developing internal project documents (e.g. PID, exception reports etc)
- Developing Performance indicators
- Principles of formal project management
- Information governance and security guidance
- Evidence of experience in managing complex projects
