Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking a Research Analyst (Medical Deanery) to lead on delivering high-quality research and analysis that underpins strategic quality assurance and planning for NHS Wales.

As a key member of the Medical Deanery team, you will:
- Conduct primary and secondary research to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Provide expert analysis and reports on education and training data.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across NHS Wales to enhance training quality.
- Offer specialist advice on research methodology and evidence synthesis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead on the delivery of primary research projects to create new evidence to underpin quality assurance and quality planning for education and training, and produce high quality evidence-based reports for the Medical Deanery. The post holder will also undertake secondary research of existing published research and analysis of a wide range of published data sets that pertain to NHS education and training that will underpin strategic quality assurance and quality planning activity for the NHS Wales workforce, working closely and collaboratively with the Quality Unit, senior managers, Executives and other stakeholders from across NHS Wales, enabling them to support, deliver and manage education and training effectively in line with the Duty of Quality and HEIW Quality Framework and in ways that are evidence-based and founded in best practice.

The post holder will provide highly specialist advice to HEIW’s Research Governance Group, clinicians and managers across HEIW and NHS Wales organisations with regard to the identification of appropriate education and training research, approaches to that research, leading the assessment, planning and evaluation of specific stakeholder evidence needs and will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal, external and national stakeholders.
