Are you a Registered Nurse who wants to make a difference to the care and experience that patients receive? If the answer is yes, then the Trauma and Orthopedics Services at Glangwill Hospital needs you. We offer exciting, challenging but rewarding nursing opportunities across two clinical areas.
Teifi Ward is a busy 30 bedded trauma and orthopedic specialist area which includes spinal injuries. Patients are received directly from A& E and in addition the ward also manages patients from other Hospitals within the Health Board who require complex revision surgery. We also have close working relationship with the plastics and spinal teams in our neighbouring health boards.
Ceri Ward is a 15 bedded (currently 19 beds) specialist fracture neck
of femur area which is supported by both orthopedics and orthogeritrics. A large percentage of our patient group are frail
elderly patients who have complex medical needs in addition to their
presenting neck of femur fracture.
Ceri and Teifi Wards are driven to provide the highest level of care
to it’s patients, and staff are expected to demonstrate the values and
behaviours of the health board. Posts in either area or rotational

learn and expand knowledge and skills within the specialty of trauma and orthopedics.
Managing and nursing patients with complex medical conditions, wound management and complex discharge planning are also some of the other skills you will also gain. An in house training programme is providing as well as opportunities to undertake further training.
