Medicine Optimisation Pharmacy Technician

Job overview

The post holder will participate in the provision and development of the Pharmacy service to all wards and departments in the Trust in accordance with current Medicines Management agenda.

The post holder will undertake pharmacy technician duties in the Dispensary and on the wards/departments at Warrington and Halton Hospitals and to other units with a service level agreement with Pharmacy

The post holder will contribute to the management of a safe system for the supply of emergency drug boxes and stock items at Warrington & Halton Hospital.

The post holder will be an accredited BTEC dispensing pharmacy technician checker with appropriate experience and knowledge to undertake the role of a BTEC dispensing checking pharmacy technician providing final checks on dispensed products on the wards and in the Dispensary. 

Main duties of the job

Provide Pharmaceutical information and advice to prescribers, other healthcare professionals and patients at a level appropriate to their knowledge, skills and understanding.
