Job overview

The cardiovascular care service has an opportunity for a motivated, flexible, experienced Clinical Support Worker to join our established Cardiac Rehabilitation team here at South Tees Hospitals.

We are a MDT comprising of Physiotherapist's , Exercise Instructor, Registered Nurses and Clincial Support Workers providing Phase 1 – 4 of Cardiac rehab to patients following their cardiac event, treatments, surgery and management of heart failure.   

Please note if you do not have the qualifications or experience marked as essential for a Band 3 role, you will be appointed at a Band 2. 

Band 2 requirements – willingness to undertake all relevant training and qualifications if wishing to develop into a band 3 role.

Band 3 requirements - Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE equivalent (A-C/ 4-9)

Care certificate

Level 3 vocational qualification

or

Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and  clinical care duties

and/or

Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;

- Theoretical knowledge

- Experience of a range of care and related procedures

- clinical observations

- knowledge of relevant legislation

There is a clear framework to allow for postholders to develop from a band 2 to band 3 and this includes completion of the qualifications. 

Main duties of the job

The job holder will be based at The James Cook University Hospital but will be required to participate in the provision of Cardiac Rehabilitation services within the community of South Tees including Hambleton and Richmond so the ability to travel independently is essential.

The post holder will assist the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to provide a high quality specialist service of Cardiac Rehabilitation to patients and their families.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a health care setting however previous cardiology/cardiothoracic experience would be an advantage. Working with the Cardiac Rehabilitation team you will support the delivery of all aspects of Cardiac Rehabilitation.
