The primary objective of the Fellowship is to train an experienced interventional cardiologist to become an independent TAVI operator able to develop a new TAVI programme at an institution, or join an established team as an additional operator. They will be expected to play an active part in the TAVI MDM process including assessment of referrals and ongoing care of ward patients.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be assigned an educational supervisor and will receive training in Cardiology during a 12-month period.  They will receive full exposure to both elective and non-elective patients.

The appointee will be expected to undertake audit and quality improvement projects, as well as to attend clinical governance meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, regional and national educational meetings. Research activity is encouraged.

After you complete this four and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7. 

We aim that as one of our senior colleagues, you will create effective relationships, improve your ability to lead, understand change and work with us to develop a performance culture at South Tees.
