Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven team player to join the rapidly growing pharmacy team at the James Cook University Hospital. You will be working within the busy pharmacy dispensary team assisting in the provision of an effective and timely service to the patients and staff of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust under the leadership of the Senior Pharmacy Technician for Dispensary.
Main duties of the job
The role consists of supporting with running of the pharmacy dispensary including covering reception, using the pharmacy tracking system, packaging medication ready for deliveries, putting away stocks into the pharmacy robot and medication shelves, filing prescriptions and paperwork, expiry date checking, and other general housekeeping duties.
Working hours are 09:00-17:00 Saturdays or Sundays on a rota basis

- Level 1 in Maths/English or equivalent demonstrable experience

- Good keyboard skills and experience of using electronic spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Knowledge

- Knowledge of a range of secretarial procedures and software programmes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively exchange routine information to a wide variety of staff, patients and external agencies
- Ability to deal with occasional emotional or distressing situations either face to face or over the telephone
- Proven ability to prioritise own workload effectively and to concentrate, carrying out tasks accurately and in a timely manner
- To be well organised and methodical when carrying out tasks
