The Emergency Department is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Patient Flow Co-Ordinator.
Our Emergency Department is very busy and dynamic with over 300 patients a day attending for treatment.
Our team is friendly, motivated and committed to providing a high quality, expert emergency service for the patients we treat.
Main duties of the job
The Patient Flow Co-Ordinator role is an important part of the team in managing the day to day flow of patients through the department. The role involves supporting the Co-ordinator and department by aiming to reduce preventable breaches of the Governments ED 4 hour turnaround time. IT skills and a good standard of general education are essential along with previous administration experience. Knowledge of Medical terminology is desirable.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An understanding/awareness of the government’s targets surrounding ED.
- A knowledge of some of the issues that might cause delays to patient flow throughout the ED.
- Be able to use a computer competently including the use of Excell spreadsheets.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE in Maths and English (A-C/4-9) or Functional Skills (level 2)
- NVQ3 level Secretarial or Business Administrative qualification, or equivalent level of demonstrable experience (using the ‘knowledge and skills’ criteria above)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent acute hospital experience, preferably in an Emergency Department setting
