Oral / Maxillofacial experience necessary

The operating department at the James Cook University Hospital includes 20 in-patient theatres within the Centre.  Included, is a recovery area within main theatres plus the recovery area within the paediatric day facility.  Also at The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton the operating department comprises of 6 main in-patient theatres, (which includes obstetrics) plus the Surgical Day Unit (1 GA &1 minor ops theatre). 

 

The theatres provide an operating service to the following clinical specialities:

 

General Surgery                     Gynaecology                          Urology                       MRI

Plastic Surgery                       Orthopaedics                          Maxilofacial                 ECT

Neurosurgery                          ENT                                        Obstetrics                    Neuro x-ray

Paediatrics                              Emergency

  • Registered Nurse with NMC or ODP with HCPC
  • Nursing Degree/Diploma or ODP qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Theatre qualification

Experience

  • General Surgery & Obstetrics
  • Prepared to update and undertake further professional education. To meet the required skills for the role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in the theatre environment.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Prepared to update and undertake further professional education to meet the knowledge & skills required for the role
  • Problem solving skills
  • Commitment to maintain own skills and standard of care
