Job overview
Finance Assistant, up to 37.5 hours per week, band 2 Fixed Term for 12 months.
Based at Carlisle (Parkhouse)
The Trust is seeking an organised individual who will directly support the management Accounts Department, and provide general support to the whole of the Finance Department and non-finance staff throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the provision of quality financial management information and provide financial support to the finance team. This will involve contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts by preparing and posting journals for budgets and income and expenditure, and ensuring that appropriate prepayments and accruals are included in the Trust’s Income and Expenditure account. The post holder will ensure that financial information is processed in accordance with DoH, NHSI and Trust policies and guidance
The post holder will provide support to the team through various admin-based tasks and assist with financial queries, whilst providing high standards of customer service. This will include post holder assisting in regularly meetings with budget holders to provide advice in managing budgets and to identify and understand the reasons for any variances in expenditure and income against budget.
The role requires a good level of communication and willingness to learn. The individual will therefore need to be able to work as part of a team and alone whilst working on various tasks and projects.
The scope of the role is to ensure that the placement holder acquires good solid knowledge across the NHS finance function to assist them in their future career aspirations and progression.
