The Deputy Head of Procurement is a key role within our organisation. Leading the DSFS Way supports the Trust’s objectives and ambitions - and sets out the behaviours and characteristics that leaders are expected to adopt and that all staff can role model, to make the Trust an even better place to work; and to support the best possible care for patients. It provides a framework for leadership and supports individual progression through appraisal, career progression and personal development. As a Deputy Head of Procurement you will use Leading the DSFS Way and its principles to procurement support and Advice
Contributes to the delivery of outstanding patient care by:
Ensuring the procurement of the right goods at the right price delivered to the right place at the right time and at the right quality. This will be achieved by working together with clients and service users to understand their procurement needs and facilitating the process. This post will support senior staff to analyse and evaluate procurement data; tender and award contracts; improve supplier performance, implement specific electronic catalogues, and continuously improve the service for clients.
Main duties of the job
Key elements of the job will involve
• Ensure a courteous and quality service is delivered for all clients
• Work with sensitivity and an understanding of the issues facing front line staff
• Support head of Procurement
• Provide specialist day to day procurement knowledge and advice to clients on major procurement projects
• Contribute to CIP Target
• Influence and support standardisation process
• Advise stakes holders on the best source of supply on all goods and services
• Promptly and proactively help teams resolve queries and resolve complaints
• Provide procurement guidance to client and service users ad hoc
• Ensure training is regularly reviewed and updated throughout team
· Ensure all current legislation adhered to and updated

- • Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Purchasing and Supplies
- • CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply Level 6
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Proven ability in the provision of a cost effective customer focused service, targeted at achieving cost reduction
- • Significant experience of procurement processes and undertaking OJEU activity within a public sector environment within the past year
- • Worked with E-tendering and E-Procurement systems
- • Collaborative Working
