The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder across obstetrics and gynaecology, contributing to the on call rota (1:10 approximately on appointment). Provision of antenatal clinics (including cover for advanced obstetrics clinics on occasion) and general gynaecology clinics is required.

Joining our team of 16 Consultants based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, you will provide high quality services for patients across North Derbyshire and the surrounding area, having the potential to advise on the efficient and smooth running of the service, to influence future service developments, and take opportunities to further develop excellent care for our patients.

Further desirable skills include:

  •       The potential to offer laparoscopic hysterectomy (a key GIRFT target for the Trust). Support to achieve this independently in initial months can be offered.
  •    Obstetric related advanced training – Advanced Antenatal Practice (High Risk Pregnancy) / Maternal (Obstetric) Medicine
  •    Gynaecology related advanced training – Colposcopy / Hysteroscopy / Benign Gynae Surgery

You will also provide assessment, care and treatment of emergency patients presenting to the Maternity and Gynaecology department. You will have the ability to work as an effective team member, providing clinical leadership for our clinical teams, and engaging fully with MDT.
