NHS AfC: Band 6

Want to make a real difference and have a truly rewarding career?  Join 'Team Derbyshire Healthcare' and become part of a talented, compassionate and enthusiastic workforce committed to a vision of ‘making a positive difference in people's lives’.

We’ve been rated ‘good’ overall by the CQC, with some outstanding services.  The CQC commented at our most recent inspection on how our colleagues “treated patients with compassion and kindness” and “felt positive and proud about working for the trust.”

Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of Derbyshire Healthcare and our Chief Executive, Ifti Majid, is a national advocate on these issues.  We are actively seeking to increase diversity in our workforce through our recruitment activities.  Selection will be on the basis of merit and we are committed to the principles of positive action, to address any imbalances of opportunity.

We are committed to ensuring that all Trust colleagues can work safely during the current Coronavirus crisis. As part of this, the Trust is reviewing job roles in relation to COVID-19 national guidance, in terms of home working, flexibility and safe practice, to ensure positive working environments for staff and the best quality services for patients.  Please note that this post may be subject to adjustments in line with COVID-19 national guidance.

We are looking for Registered Nurses to join Our Trust.

As a result of our on-going response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are keen to hear from Lead Mental Health Nurses/ Registered Learning Disability Nurses to join our new Peripatetic Team.

This is a new and exciting initiative we have developed to help to support our Trust during the current pandemic, and to help support winter pressures in our services.

The teams will be bases across the 3 inpatient sites of the Trust.

The 3 sites are:

  • Kingsway Campus - inclusive of rehabilitation (open), older people and low secure services.
  • Hartington unit - Adults of working age and older people acute services.
  • Radbourne unit - Adults of working age, Enhanced Care Unit and the Perinatal Unit

These teams will be in place to support areas where staffing is impacted by COVID 19 isolation and absence as per the current guidance, it is expected that members of the team will be flexible and willing to work with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Therefore, part of the process joining the team will be to undertake a health risk assessment and occupational health clearance, as per legal obligation within employment law.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals. You will need strong leadership skills, be able to make decisions and have sound communication skills.

Our Client group is diverse and you will need a good level of knowledge of the differing mental health needs of adults needing inpatient care.

Once the situation with Covid-19 pandemic and the winter pressures have receded, we will be in a position to offer you a substantive nursing post within one of our in-patient service areas.

As an organisation we lead on a number of key research areas such as Mindfulness, Compassion, Dementia, Delirium, Self-Harm, Safeguarding and Children’s Mental Health Psychological Interventions.

Derbyshire is an area of outstanding natural beauty boasting one of the UK’s most accessible national parks.

Derbyshire is a culturally diverse county and we hope to welcome you to our diverse and forward thinking organisation so that we can be – Better Together.

Please be mindful that the ward provides a 24 hour, year round, in-patient service; so you would need to be able to work shift patterns, including  morning, afternoon, nights, weekends, Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays.

Details of our staff support packages are on our website.  Some of which include:
