NHS Medical & Dental: Locum Consultant
Job overview
We are looking to expand our newly established General Internal Medicine (GIM) team with the recruitment of a Locum GIM Consultant. This service line is the first of its kind at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and is an exciting opportunity to be part this innovative and dynamic team.
The post holder will manage the non-elective general medical patients admitted from ED/MAU and internal ward transfers. Options to support other specialty interests will be supported.
Main duties of the job
- Inpatient ward rounds.
- Clinical Governance.
- Supporting junior medical staff with training.
- Attending weekly GIM Meeting.
- Weekend MAU (Medical Assessment Unit) cover and weekend morning ward round– on rota basis -
- Contribution to Medical Outlier rota, shared between all Specialities within the Medical Care Group
